Pale, coarse-grain, shot through with the malty warmth of a local ale.
A 140g jar of British Beer Mustard, made by Tracklements in Wiltshire using Wadworth's 6X, the rich ruby ale brewed a few miles down the road in Devizes.
Mustard seed at 28%, beer at 24%, making this a seriously English condiment from a B Corp producer with a King's Award, made the proper way rather than the cheap way.
Spoon alongside a slab of ham, a good pork pie, or a wedge of mature cheddar; stir into a Welsh rarebit; fold through a warm potato salad.
One of those jars that quietly lifts everything on the plate.
