Chapel Down English Brut Sparkling Wine

Sale price£26.00

A pale, dry English sparkling wine from Kent — Chapel Down's flagship cuvée, and the bottle that has done more than any other to introduce drinkers to English fizz.

A 750ml bottle of traditional-method English sparkling wine, made by Chapel Down at their winery in Tenterden, Kent — the heart of what's still called the Garden of England. The grapes are sourced from a network of contracted vineyards across Kent, Sussex, Essex and Dorset, on chalk, clay and loam soils that mirror the conditions of northern France.

Built on the classic Champagne grape varieties — Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier — vinified separately, then assembled into the final cuvée before secondary fermentation in bottle. Aged on lees to draw out depth.

Pale gold in the glass. Fine, persistent bubbles. On the nose: crisp citrus, soft red apple, a subtle lift of spice. On the palate: green apple, lemon, a creamy biscuit weight from the lees. The finish is dry, fresh and clean — exactly what an English sparkling Brut should be.

Bottled at 12% ABV. Suitable for vegans.

For an aperitif before dinner. For oysters, smoked salmon, sushi or fish and chips. For a celebration that doesn't need a Champagne label to feel like one.

Chapel Down was founded in 2001 and is now the UK's largest wine producer — a publicly listed company turning out wines, ciders and spirits from a winery and vineyard estate that draws over 100,000 visitors a year. The Brut NV is the bottle most people drink first when they cross over to English wine.

75cl. Please drink responsibly.
