Nyetimber Classic Cuvée Sparkling Wine

Sale price£42.00

The signature wine of Nyetimber, and the bottle that started England's sparkling wine reputation.

A 750ml bottle of traditional-method English sparkling wine, made in West Sussex by Nyetimber — the estate first recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086, replanted with vines in 1988, and now widely regarded as the producer that proved English sparkling wine could rival the best of Champagne.

The blend is built on the same three grape varieties as Champagne: 51% Pinot Noir, 36% Chardonnay, 13% Pinot Meunier. All grown across Nyetimber's own vineyards in Sussex, Hampshire and Kent — chalk and greensand soils, gently south-facing, with the Coquard presses brought in from Champagne to handle the fruit parcel by parcel. The wine is multi-vintage, drawing on a library of reserve wines, and aged on lees in the Nyetimber cellar for more than three years before release.

Pale gold in the glass. Fine, persistent bubbles. On the nose: toasted brioche, almond, baked apple. On the palate: honey, pastry, a little spice, a long elegant finish carrying the depth of older reserves. Intense yet delicate — the balance Nyetimber became known for.

Bottled at 12% ABV. Vegan. The lot code on the back of the bottle traces every step of its making at nyetimber.com/wineinfo — pressing, blending, riddling, disgorging, all logged.

Made by Cherie Spriggs, the first winemaker outside Champagne — and the first woman ever — to win the IWC Sparkling Winemaker of the Year award. Twice. In 2018 and again in 2025.

For a celebration. For a dinner. For seafood, lightly grilled poultry, or simply on its own. Serve well chilled.

75cl. Please drink responsibly.
