The fig seeds and poppy seeds give them a little crunch, and the sweetness is gentle, closer to a tea bread than a biscuit.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe baker calls them slim and ultra-crispy for spreading and nibbling, and they are the right base for anything rich and spreadable: a coarse pork pâté, a chicken liver parfait, a soft goat's cheese or a ripe washed-rind cheese. They also stand up well to a mature cheddar with a spoon of \u003ca href=\"\/products\/darlingtons-cracking-christmas-chutney-312g\"\u003eChristmas chutney\u003c\/a\u003e.
