The maker describes rich dark chocolate against the mint as a real taste experience, and says the chocolate version was developed about forty years ago. The mint is sharp, cold and sweet; the chocolate rounds it off and adds a little bitterness, so it eats more like an after-dinner mint than the plain bar does.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe maker says it is often eaten as an after-dinner mint and is popular with endurance athletes for the sugar.
